Taking on Jobs after retirement can be a terrific way of making your savings last longer and even keep yourself active into your old age. Getting Retirement home jobs or retirement part time jobs can help you to get back in the game and can give you something to do.

So, what is the best post retirement job? That depends on you and what you like to do, but here are a few to consider.

1. Become a Consultant

What is the best post retirement job? It might be a consultant. If you are retired then chances are you are an expert at something, whether it be accounting, marketing, sales, personal finance, or construction business’ and individuals are out there in need of advice.
You can become a consultant by either setting up shop and marketing yourself or applying for a marketing firm. The job may be a little irregular and the pay may be also, but if you are retired and are just looking for extra income it is a perfect way to go about it. 2. Temporary Work Agencies

Temporary work agencies are now the number one employer in America and it is perfect if you want to change your do not want to work in the same old place every day.

3. Government and Community Service Jobs

There are a number of government programs out there such as the Senior Community Service Employment program (SCSEF) which help low income seniors prepare to work at a variety of service jobs after retirement.

4. Wal-Mart and other Retailers

My Mom always said when she retires she’s going to work as a greeter at Wal-Mart. It’s a nice job, easy to do and helps to pay the bills.
You can find a ton of retirement part time jobs at large retailers such as Wal-Mart, Ralphs, Sam’s Club, etc. Each offering positions for retirement part time jobs.

5. What Do You Want to Do?

The best jobs after Retirement maybe the one’s that you always wanted to do but were unable to do because they either didn’t pay the bills or they just didn’t fit into your plan.
Think about what you have always wanted to do and what you thought would be fun. Do you want to work at a county fair? A museum? Or maybe because as a kid’s birthday party magician.
Whatever it is you’re only alive once, you might as well get as much done as you can.

Starting a home based business can also be a great thing to do after retirement. You probably do not need it to pay the bill anytime soon, and it can give you something to do and help you to learn new things.

6. Buy and Sell on Ebay

Ok, this is not exactly one of those jobs after retirement that gets any recognition as a job, but people do make money from it. I had a friend who was able to turn $600 into $2,000 buying and selling on sites like Ebay in just under a month.
The trick is to study how much something actually cost and then buy it from people selling at a low price and sell it at a higher price. It can be a very interesting thing to do and every now and then you find someone who doesn’t know what they have and are selling a $700 shirt for $15.

7. Becoming a Landlord

This also isn’t considered to be one of those normal jobs after retirement, but who needs normal jobs after retirement anyways.
The idea here is to buy a couple houses and rent them out. If you are in one of those lucky neighborhoods that have houses selling for $30,000 you can buy a couple local houses and rent them out for $600/month each.
Your only duties here are to collect rent and handle any tenet complaints. This is one of those easy low maintenance jobs after retirement.

8. Flipping Houses

The show “Flip This House” has become very popular and if you are retired and looking for extra work it can be one of the best jobs after retirement if you are handy. The idea
here is to buy a house, do some work on it to increase its value, and then sell it for a profit.

9. Blogging

Blogging is quickly becoming one of those exciting retirement home jobs that pay you for taking about your hobbies. The idea here is to blog about your hobbies and interest and to write interesting stuff. Once people start coming to your blog and you develop a readership you can then sell advertising on it or even sell your own products.

10. Starting a Website

Another way to take advantage of the online community is to start your own website. Whether you have something to sell or whether you want to talk about the things that you love and want to put advertising on your site this is a great way to make some extra income.

11. Freelancer

Sticking with those Retirement home Jobs that can be done online, you can always become a freelancer. A freelancer is simply someone who does individual jobs for companies online.
For instance Associated Content.com is always looking for interesting articles and will pay between $2-$10 for a well written article on whatever topic they are currently looking for.

12. Network Marketing

If you are looking for jobs after Retirement that are social this can be perfect. The idea is to join a network and sell whatever they have, making a commission each time you do.
For instance YTB Travel is a network marketing company which sells travel deals, hotels, flights, etc. When you join you get a website and whenever someone buys from that website you make money. You can also recruit others into the network and make a percentage of the sales that your new recruits make.
If you work hard and get big at it, Network Marketing can become one of those jobs after retirement that is paying you more then you were making before you were when retired.
